I was chatting with God Till earlier today about this and, as I told him this afternoon, I didn’t think Burke could do much tonight because he really doesn’t have any assets to move.

I think we need to contextualize the draft, I haven’t seen any other teams moving up.

As someone mentioned in the other thread, this was a curious move up for De Haan. Guess Kulikov really scares a lot of teams.

Kim Jorn was wondering why on earth NYI would make a complex trade to acquire a pick, then again, to get a D they could have gotten with their original 2nd, and NO ONE at TSN noted it.

No other player deals.

Islanders have moved all sorts of picks

Here’s your top 11:
Tavares
Hedman
Duchene
Kane
Schenn
Ekmann-Larson
Kadri
Glennie
Cowen
MSP
Ellis

Just read up on the process that NYI went through to draft this kid at the 16? spot. It makes no sense.
And for the record, fuck the Kings mgmt. They could have had Kaberle and the #7 pick in trade for the #5. Morons and idiots.
But it doesn’t matter- both Tavares and Schenn 2.0 will be Leafs just as soon as their rookie contracts are up- you heard it here first.

I’d love to see them draft a goalie as this is allegedly the worst year for goalies in a decade. None are expected to go until late in the 2nd round.

At Red Line Report we consider this to be perhaps the worst class of goaltenders we’ve seen in over a decade. The crop is lacking in both high-end quality and depth of talent, with no true blue-chippers and not a single prospect we would consider worthy of a first-round grade

.
