It’s only a 5-game road trip, but still..

Vancouver OFF Anaheim OFF Dallas OFF Buffalo Montreal

That’s rough.

Dec.27 in Pittsburgh looks like a possible road trip destination. Dec. 18 &/or Jan. 8 in Buffalo as well.

I’m with you on the Dec 18th and 19th. Always works better to fly into and out of Buffalo, plus I get to see 2 games and only pay a fortune for one of them.

Is it October yet?

great

now where’s the TV schedule?
And what’s this I hear about getting around blackouts by ordering bell express vu and having your bill sent to an ontario address?

Is that how much it is? Now that I actually have a job, I wouldn’t mind ordering Centre Ice next year.

by dare_ on Jul 15, 2009 5:16 PM EDT up reply actions

That’s how much your center ice is? I paid like 180. And Comcast gave me ticket vouchers for Chiefs games. I have to add on NHL network to make sure I get all Leafs games in case there is a CI blackout. But that’s only like 4 bucks a month.

Centre Ice

Was 140 here, but they also throw in the OHL package, Nascar in car(whoopie) an NFL and NBA package. Makes me wish I had more than a passing interest in those other sports.

Unfortunately, i get royally ass-raped when Sportsnet is carrying a Leafs game(about 25 times a year) because it gets blacked out at least 75% of the time.

Leafs TV is like $2.50 a month.

I need to get the Vancouver CBC feed so I don’t have to watch Habs on Saturday night. I could watch on the internet, but I like my couch. I managed to negotiate TSN (traded away RDS) with my girlfriend, and I got NHL network in the deal. I think I will try to flip NHLN for RSO, since they seem to have more Leaf games than TSN even. Not a chance I am getting express-anything.

I bought a single ticket for the Edmonton game because tahts all I could get, was a good seat though. For calgary I had a hookup though a company that sponsors the Flames so I got a couple seats to that one… I tried to get them when they went on sale but they were all sold out within like negative 30 seconds.

heh

well this year I will pay attention to when the canucks tickets go on sale and buy two right away, wherever they are. Fortunately, GM place has good viewing angles from pretty much everywhere.

I also went to all 3 western canadian games. Tickets weren’t hard to find, me and my GF found AMAZING seats for marginally over face value. The day before. Outside of toronto, it’s merely a question of being willing to look for the right deal.

They play Calgary three times in October, twice in December (28th and 31st, broken up by the Toronto game – WHY NOT HAVE A HOME AND HOME??) AND they don’t finish with a home-and-home, or shit, even a game against Calgary? WTF.

Saturday Oct 31
Tuesday Dec 1
Saturday April 10 (in which we eliminate them from playoff contention and grab the 8th spot)

All the Habs “intersting” games are around the same week, too. End of November is Red Wings, centenial game against the Bruins is Dec 4th. I guess the game at the Big O is a no go, since it hasn’t been mentioned?

Tickets to Montreal games go on sale later, probably September. I’m hoping to get a 10 game package that includes the Leaf games, and try to move some of the other ones. Our friends that we go with are also a Leafs/Habs couple, so it makes for interesting times.

Seriously, Fuck the NHL

I was so looking forward to the night when we’d get a tired Montreal team that we could mercilessly pound into the boards until the 3rd period devolved into the end of Rollerball. Here are our games with them:

Oct. 1 (Toronto) Opening game of the season.

Oct. 31 (Montreal) The only time this season we play them where Montreal played the night before (In Chicago). However, this is our 5th game in 8 nights, and we’ve been to BC, Cali, and Texas along the way.

Dec 1 (Montreal) They get 2 nights off before this, we play at home against Buffalo the night before.

Dec. 26 (Toronto) After the mandatory 2 days off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Mar. 20 (Toronto) They have 3 nights off before this, we have one.

Apr. 10 (Montreal) They have one night off, we have two.

FWIW, Dec. 4 might simultaneously be the Habs’ 100th anniversary AND the night they die, seeing as how the play us on the 1st, Buffalo on the 3rd, then Boston on the 4th.

asshole as a performer

he’s an asshole. his show was the same night as Pens vs Wings game 7, and he refused to let the ACC air the game anywhere in the arena. he then got distracted by a brown beer vendor who was quietly pouring a beer in the front row (as is his job) and proceeded to almost get him fired.

The beer vendor shit isn’t cool but I wouldn’t be surprised if not showing the game was the ACC’s decision. They turned off TVs during the Russia-Canada junior game DURING OVERTIME after the Leafs-Sens game.

I’m laughing at myself, because I sound almost like him, referring to Michael Stipe in the song “My First Rock Concert”. He was distant, but he was nice.

Triple P - an idea...

…any way we (by which I mean “you” and/or the SBNation IT elves) can set something up on the site, like a database that keeps track of whether any Triple-P peeps are going to a particular game, and who they are (obviously, we’d have to submit info pertaining to which games we’re attending on a voluntary basis).

Just thinking reading this list that chances are pretty good somebody from the site is going to be at most, if not all games. It’d be fun if people could determine whether somebody else from the site might be at the same game, maybe hook up for a bevvy or to before/after/during, etc.

Also, with so many of us attending these various games, such a feature might help in getting people who are actually at the games to something, maybe a fanpost about what they saw/noticed/took pictures of/posted by way of bail…

/end pie in the sky dreaming…
