Brian Burke on Tomas Kaberle
"Right now, we are not talking to anyone about Tomas Kaberle," said Burke. "If I had to handicap this, I would be shocked if he wasn’t a Leaf on opening night. ... and I look forward to seeing what Tomas can do with a little bit more size and toughness around him, where he’s not picking his teeth out of the glass all night."

I think Burke confused Kaberle with Van Ryn.

Or Stajan.

I was GOING to say Stajan, but if he lost his good looks, he wouldn’t have anything but his hockey ability

I’ll let Milan know next time I see him. It might be hard for him to hear it with me screaming it from the balcony, but I’ll try.

Make sure to ask him to do it when Orr is on the ice – That’s a paddlin’
PS – We don’t really care if Orr gets hurt because that’s his job – Lucic on the other hand…

When did thornton get one-punched? We do have this Matt Hunwick, while we’re on the topic of one-punches.

I bet at one point Todd Fedoruk was a feared man in the NHL. But my introduction to him was via Derek Boogaard. So that’s not AS impressive as it could be.

good quote
much as we have too many D-men, I like Kabby, I like him as a Leaf and I don’t want him to go. he should trade away a somewhat less promising guy like White (who i also don’t hate).
Jesus didn’t need a brother to be great. Neither does Luke Schenn.
but
our mustache quotient will be shot to hell if we trade White.

Burke also said on Prime Time Sports (I believe yesterday) that he believes the media is a good outlet to get trades going.
He could be bringing this up now to remind teams that Kaberle is here and available.
that Holik story was pretty good.

Over on Nucks Misconduct they were saying that they’re unsure of how his hand healed. I could see a trade deadline move, because it makes sense that some GMs may not be convinced his hand is back to 100%.

Howard Berger believes otherwise...
http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=22264
So obviously, that must mean Kaberle is staying. ;)
I like how Mustache CheeseBerger mixes up his facts in the article
He states the following…
“Now, the Maple Leafs’ GM has 16 days to prevent himself from negating much of the process.”
And later states the correct information…
“…a trade essential to the Maple Leafs’ development by the Aug. 15th contractual deadline.”
we try not to link to that site that shall not be named… :)
but i agree on your take wholeheartedly!
