well the only baseball fan I know is my brother, and he accepted a while ago that this would be Halladay’s last season for the Jays…. so I kind’ve just followed along. It is sad though, my brother was a pitcher until he broke his hand, and he says that Halladay is an absolute master and one of the best he’s ever seen.

I'll be on the veranda, since you're already on the cross.
Hahaha, Clay Buchholz has already thrown a major league no hitter. He has a sub 2.00 ERA in AAA.
You’re not going to get anything better than Buchholz+Bowden out of New York because they don’t have it. The Sox have stupid pitching depth.

Not that would be willing to help you out. Presumably Vernon Wells is leaving town with Halladay so you guys can actually rebuild.
Of the teams with deep pockets Boston has far and away the best talent in the minor leagues.

"Willing to help us out?"
Did you actually write that? Any team that gets Doc is the one getting helped out. Period.
And since he’s a fee agent at the end of next year, it isn’t like the team would have to have a tonne of money. He’s under a decent contract, so that opens up plenty of other teams.
I'll be on the veranda, since you're already on the cross.
help us out? by taking Halladay?
Yes PLEEEASE take him off our hands.. Taking just Wells would be helping.
As for rebuilding the Jays have a pretty good team once Marcum comes back and once if McGowan comes back.
Jays in 2010.
A Nation of Masochists TRUCULENCE!! It's not just a word. It's a way of life.
If people aren’t helping you out why would you trade Halladay? Someone at the Jays believes trading him helps you.

Boston has a great system
But the Angels and Giants all have phenomenal farm systems and in either case, if the Jays don’t get at leas two top-5 prospects at the very least, Jays don’t do the deal. They may as well just get the two high compensation picks if Halladay leaves to sign elsewhere. Simple.
Supporter of the Sergei Berezin "Give and Go" - You give me puck, then you go to hell
Um, no. And lots of useless pitchers have no-hitters, so one isn’t exactly getting my motor running.
Not sure if you’re aware, but the Jays actually have quite a lot of pitching depth.
And why you seem to think he’s only going to be traded to Boston or New York is beyond me.
I'll be on the veranda, since you're already on the cross.

I’d avoid an in-division trade if I thought my team would contend during the term of the contract.
Offering Halladay to the AL East starts the Sox-Yankees bidding war. If either team didn’t want Halladay (and I’m sure they both do given his talent) they’ll drive the price up to keep him away from each other.

And again, Sox or Yankees would eat Wells’ contract without blinking to get Halladay.

I think the dislike of the Sox and Yankees amongst most Jays fans would make such a thing unlikely, but it is likely exactly what JP will end up doing. But I assume they still make this deal in the offseason, if they make it
