Wow curl, you’re sure up early, i bet that the responsibility to provide our fair barilkosphere with the links we need must result in many sleepless nights, eh?

I’m on the west coast and I don’t get to sleep until the FTB is done. I tend to put it together at 1 am west coast since I hope by then there are more links up. Or that google reader isn’t lagging an hour or two.

Perhaps yes? If I am behind I set the post to go up 2:15 am my time. But typically I shoot for 2am west coast.

It’s more of a hypothetical thing. I’m never getting up at that time.

agreed. Seriously, who looks at Francois Beauchemin and goes “Yes, Leafs captain. Move over Sundin.”?

I don’t see why we can’t have another non-captain season. Whats the rush?

40 years we've stayed loyal, waited, and pained. That is the honor of being a Leafs' fan.

I don’t think they are naming a captain this season, because as you say there is no rush. Let OLAS emerge naturally and without the added pressure. Why dump the C on someone before that, we need no regent holding the crown for the king

Yeah, no cap’n this year. 2010-11, OLAS, or maybe 2011-2012 [once Kaberle is gone]. Bouch doesn’t have nearly the clout in the NHL to be a new team captain ala a Peca in NYI.

3 years without a captain certainly seems long but Schenn is definitely captain material.

3 years in a rebuild is fine for me. There’s still a lot of movement coming and I’d rather not have a captain than have a series of guys that end up getting moved.

Plus, not having a captain lets the vets help out in anyway they can without having one guy as ‘the guy’. Better to have the group leading things that one guy for now.

If Beauchemin had skippered the Ducks then I could possibly see it happening. There are not many Leafs left that could carry the ‘C’ that have been with the team long beyond Kaberle and he’s a good alternate.

Dude, seriously. There’s not a whole lot going on right now so excuse me for linking something I didn’t know was kosher. At the very least I figured it’d spark debate on the captain situation and not “omg that new source is terrible how dare you link it when there was not much else to choose from.”

we’re not trying to indict you wrap, it’s Leafs related news and you do your job well. It’s just that b/r has been putting out incredibly lazy articles, and this one was the tipping point. All the vitriol is about that site, don’t think we’re shooting the messenger.

Hmmm.

Combining the topics in the threads above, I vote for Zombie Red Horner as Captain. That dude knew a little sumpin’ sumpin’ ’bout truculence, old school.

Though Horner was a D-man, and we’re a little stacked back there. Come to think of it, I think the better choice is Zombie King Clancy.
