I was thinking the same thing but I’m not sure if you can call it a jersey foul.
It would definitely be cool. I won’t be the one to do it though.

Poor Jiri only had one vote. I’m expecting big things from that dude.

I think I’m getting Grabbo’s jersey. I love the man. I’ll save Schenn for when he gets the C

But if you get another one now and wait for the Schenn, it justifies buying another jersey once he gets the C.

Schenn is never a bad choice though. There’s too many young guys to pick from for the next one. Kadri, Bozak, Stalberg, Stefanovich, Tlusty, Gustavsson.

Beauchemin is a solid pick. Poni should give his number up to such a truculent mofo.

My guess is he will go with the reverse and pick 32

Quick thanks before work...

I just wanted to say that I’d like to thank everyone (even that jerk Chemmy ;) ) for being awesome this summer. It is and has been a rough go of being a hockey fan here in Phoenix over the last while. This place has been a welcome break from having to constantly talk about my team’s issues and just hang out with fans. Even ones north of the border who’s team I knew nothing about until here.

I don’t really know what else to say right now as I a- have to get to work and b- am literally getting a little teary, but Sincerely thanks for everything and I’ll see you around the CC later today.

Yeah, but I think that was when he was still having issues. The article I read basically said that his kid was born with a deformed eye (wasn’t fully developed). my daughter was sleeping in our bed last night (bad dream) and she somehow fell out of bed, hit her head on the nightstand and landed on her back.

I propose we open this up to head injury discussion.

When I was let’s say four I was on the swingset in the winter wearing mittens and I lost hold of the chain and landed head first in gravel. It didn’t hurt that bad but the teacher or whoever said it was fine. I told her I thought I was bleeding. She said I wasn’t bleeding.

Shortly thereafter the back of my neck felt wet so I reached back with my black nylon mitten and confirmed wetness. That’s when the teacher shrieked and fainted.

On Tuesday nights we used to break into MIT’s running track and race track bikes (fixed gear no brakes) against bike messengers. We were doing Madisons which are relay races complete with batons. I was waiting for my slow ass team mate to hand me the baton so I could fucking motor us to victory as the anchor.

Pedaling fast, turned around backwards one hand stretching for the baton… I woke up on my back and most of the people racing were gone. I had someone’s arm underneath my shoulders and I felt fine. Everyone looked horrified.

The arm underneath me was mine, I realized, and I couldn’t move my arms or legs for what seemed like hours but was probably a millisecond. I stared at my hand and couldn’t move it until my ring finger twitched and suddenly I could move my arms and legs sort of ok.

My buddy rode home and came back with his car and gave me a ride home. I found out a few days later that I hit head first and was unconscious for about 15 minutes and had a seizure.

I once got in a car accident and hit my head on the back of the driver’s seat so hard, I broke my face in four places, but that softened the blow enough to not give me a concussion. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

concussion #1

when i was 7 I was chasing my older brother around our house, for whatever reason (we’re brothers, we fight and chase…) and he ran outside on our deck, slamming the screen door in front of me. i stuck my arms out to keep it from shutting and went through the glass (the screen was up) landed on my forehead and slid about 3 or 4 feet across the deck.

I stood up and started laughing, looked at my brother who was ghost white. i had shards of glass sticking out of my arms and a massive goose egg on my forehead. i had bit through my lip and was bleeding everywhere.

then i started crying.

concussion #2

probably about a year later or so, you’ll never believe it but i was chasing my brother for some reason. we had these sliding french doors in our living room, and my brother threw those open so hard they came off the track, snapped back and nailed me right in the face.

i stopped dead in my tracks and fell straight back. out cold.

no blood this time.

God Pt 2 is one of my favorite songs of all time. Amazing lyrics and energy.

however, U2 does hold a soft spot in my heart, as the day we took our daughter home from the hospital after being bron, “Pride(In the Name of Love)” was the first song we heard on the radio. Strange, but kind of cool, as the song directly speaks of MLK’s assassination, but it’s also metaphorically about rebirth and renewal.

my daughter was given a plastic bag to take a few things for her classes “all about me” day. each kid got up and shared a few things, pictures of family and such.

when my daughter got home from school, i asked her if she got to share and she said ya, but they ran out of time.

she had packed just about everything imaginable. toys, pictures, stuffed animals, coloring books.
