I know Canada is a stacked team, but the US have oodles of young good players, some great ones too. They are no pushover. And my guess they will be truculent too

they have some talent on that team. good, scrappy, truculent type talent.
I suspect the US will be one of those teams that will be outmatched on paper most nights but will be an extremely tough out on the ice. They may not win a medal but they will scare the shit out of the other contenders they play.
Being a Leaf fan here requires one to be sufficiently lubricated... and truculent!

Nah, it,s ok. I’m hoping bronze for my poor, failing country… god knows, I can’t take another Olympic final suckfest from them. The part that Russia is not getting gold is the part we need to talk about… ;)

I specified them as 2nd as far as favorites.. I didn’t predict a Canadian win(although that is the expected outcome.)
Russia will be extremely skilled, especially at the top end of their lineup. Goaltending will either be fantastic or crap… it is not usually in between.
Their D-men…. well, that is one area were a Good Russian Defenseman are the exception, rather than the rule.
I hope the Canadian team builds at least one (and possible two) lines that are extremely physical. Some players like Ovetchkin and Malkin won’t shy away from this style of play… but they can easily be slowed down and made less effective by it.
PS My fourth line on the Canadian team is Lucic, Getzlaf and Doan…
If you were the Russian top line, would YOU want to be on the ice with them??
