A little over a month ago, Clawson inadvertently volunteered to run a PPP Yahoo draft
People were asked how competitive they were and if they were willing to pony up 20$ to play or if they wanted to play for free.
Depending on how quickly you sent in your email, you were allotted a division. Clawson listed out Div 1 today.
I assume Div 2 will be made up of all of the $$ players who are left, and possibly a Div III for the non cash players.
Since there are around 20 people left, they may just get dumped into one division and those who play for money would have a chance of winning the money with everyone else just playing for bragging rights.

there’s always next year.
Also, I will probably be running one of my own. I’ll post it in a fanshot probably next week to see if there are anyone interested in topping up our participants.

I think Division II will just be everyone else in a non-money league.

3 fantasy pools this year?
i think i can pull it off.
i look forward to bombarding you all with trade proposals and drunken saturday night banter.
Hey
Is it too late to get in on the non-money league? One where I get to beat PPP?

Speaking of Yahoo Leagues
I drafted in one on Monday…
Look at the two trade proposals I received:
They trade: Dwayne Rolosson
They want: Khabibulin
and, if you think that is funny, this one should make you pee yourself
They trade: Malkin, Kari Lehtonen
They want: Zetterberg, Langenbrunner and Thomas
FYI – my team name is not any permutation of ‘John Ferguson Jr’ or ‘Mike Milbury’

I just want to be in the non-roster moves league – the Apathy Division if you will.
As for team names, I’m trying to decide between Franklin Comes Alive, the Money Beets and, in a nod to bad 80s music, Der Komisar(ek).

Sweet
I’m DI baby.
When are we getting that email?
I’m gonna be the Newmarket Saints.
by Leaf in Habland on Sep 12, 2009 9:47 PM EDT reply actions
Completely serious
I was going to go with St. Catharines Saints. Can we get enough people on that theme to follow the franchise from start to today?

The all-time Leaf affiliate hockey pool name theme? I’d go with Oklahoma City Blazers…
Bitter Leaf Fan: a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan comments on the team, the media and the exasperation...
Awesome.
According to wiki, franchise history is:
1982 to 1986 St. Catharines Saints
1986 to 1991 Newmarket Saints
1991 to 2005 St. John’s Maple Leafs
2005 to present Toronto Marlies
What were other Leafs farm teams?
Reading Royals
Oklahoma City Blazers (just saw mf37’s Blazers post)

1973 – 76 Oklahoma Blazers
1977 – 78 Dallas Black Hawks
1978 – 82 New Brunswick Hawks

Let’s not forget the Belleville Bulls. Or at least, that’s what the Leafs drafts told me.

St. Michael’s Majors and Toronto Marlboroughs in the 60s if we are going unofficial OHL/OHA feeder clubs.
I read somewhere that the Leafs had St Mike’s and Marlies, Boston had Kingston, Montreal had Peterborough.

No worries
You’re officially in pool II. E-mail Mattblack!
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Just a suggestion but
Since we have ‘Divisions’ and we plan on making this a yearly event, how about relegation?
The top 5 of Div II have the option of bumping the bottom 5 of Div i down.
Also, if interest continues to trend upwards, a third division could be added next year.
What does everyone think?
