The Leaf's 'Hockey Song'
As I was reading my newly purchased copy of the Maple Leafs Annual(Schenn levels of awesomeness) I decided to use the tune from Stompin Tom's classic 'Hockey Song' to create a version for this years Leafs. It is an extended version with a few extra verses.
I hope you like it.
Hello out there, we're on the air, it's Hockey Night tonight
The faceoff's won, the fun's begun, Matt shoots it down the ice
Blake's got it on his stick, centers quick, the fans shout out his name
Pascal can't close the doors, Stempy scores at the good ole Hockey game
OH! The good ol' Hockey game, is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name, is the good ol' Hockey game
Penalty Kill
Poni's in the bin for an unknown sin, Kovalev tried to duck
Alfie's on the line but Schenn's sublime, the Sens are out of luck
Komi 's blocking shots, the Monster's stopping lots, Milan's put in the glass
Spetz tries to pass, Luke puts him on his ass at the good ole Hockey game
OH! The good ol' Hockey game, is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name, is the good ol' Hockey game
Second Period
It's getting rough but that's not enough to stop our guys in blue
The gloves are dropped, Neil gets popped, how his helmet flew
A hard left then right, it's not a fight, Chris turtles and hits the floor
"Who wants more!" shouts Colton Orr at the good ole Hockey game
OH! The good ol' Hockey game, is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name, is the good ol' Hockey game
Power Play
Kabby passes it up the ice, it looks real nice, Grabbo takes it on his stick
Hagman has no fear when Philllips spears, boy what a freakin dick
Kulie rocks the joint, slaps it back to the point, Francois fires it off the post
No need to boast, the Sens are toast at the good ol' Hockey game
OH! The good ol' Hockey game, is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name, is the good ol' Hockey game
Third Period
Teeth are bared, the Refs are scared, let them play it out
The game is tight due to our defensive might - also Welly is stout
Bozak's on his toes but the whistle blows, how the hell was that offside?
"Just let it ride" Wilson cried, at the good ole Hockey game
OH! The good ol' Hockey game, is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name, is the good ol' Hockey game
Overtime
Four on Four, we have to score to make the playoffs now
If we don't get the puck, we're outta luck, can't solve this with a row
Shoot-outs are shit and we don't want it, but wait is that a breakout pass?
See how we roll, it's Kadri's goal! At the good ole Hockey game!
OH! The good ol' Hockey game, is the best game you can name
And the best game you can name, is the good ol' Hockey game

Did you really have Blake send a PASS to Stempniak for a GOAL??
Other than that section of mild confusion, it was pretty cool. Recced.

Nice
“Who wants more!” shouts Colton Orr
I want to hear that. Or, “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!”
Also, need help fixing the blockquotes?

Near-perfect. Rec’d for sure. You should made to memorize this before joining PPP.

Thanks for the compliment! I believe it was divinely inspired by OLAS

This is great. My big complaint about North American sports fans is the lack of team-specific songs. Now let’s teach this to all Leaf fans to sing at games, and let the tapping of BlackBerry keys from the lower bowl provide the percussion track.
I knew it… within hours of writing the song, Heatley was traded… but this is now fixed
