That left a blue-line Tuesday night comprised of guys battling for the sixth and seventh defenceman spots. Among that group, new Flames head coach Brent Sutter thought Anton Stralman stood out the most.
"I thought Stralman was very good tonight, he might have been the best player on the ice," Sutter said.

I’m envisioning a half dozen posts per year by Koopa following Stralman’s career until he retires. It’s nice to know PPP is big enough that there’s always someone to catch our franchises potential mistakes……… :)

I wouldn’t call it a mistake. Stralman had no chance of cracking the Top 4 this year, and due to the experience and salary of the guys fighthing for the last 2 or 3 spots, Burke couldn’t justify sending one of them down to the Marlies to let Stralman play up. Burke had to move him.

Exactly
If Stralman didn’t have to pass waivers, I’m not sure he would have been traded. And getting a 2nd for him is a pretty decent return.

I thought I’d put that clarifying word in. Yes, I did.

Yeah I’m still waiting to see how it turns out. Still, it warms my heart to see him trying to succeed.
