Leafs Beat Flyers. Also Score Four Goals and Win the Game.
I'm still giddy over the game. Nasty Nazem Kadri looked ridiculous when given the proper tools to work with. Niklas Hagman is still awesome (not that I had any doubts.) Luke Schenn is still Luke Schenn, just a year older, wiser, stronger, meaner. And not to belittle the true meaning behind them, but it all reminded me of some words Sir Winston Churchill once spoke:
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender
We shall fight indeed...

This is what happens when amateurs like PPP try and get involved in serious FTB business.

Fancfic from a Player’s Perspective makes its triumphant return on tWWoLD, and this time, it’s about Luke Schenn: http://wwold.blogspot.com/2009/09/players-perspective-luke-schenn.html
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing. Also rather truculent for a chick.
John Mitchell Q&A in the Print Edition of the Star
Five Qs, can’t find it online…I wonder how many f-bombs the editor had to remove.
Favourite player growing up: Doug Gilmour
Favourite team as a kid: Toronto Maple Leafs
Favourite Comfort food: I’m going with pizza…do you mean right now (because players are in camp and watching their diets)….it’s still pizza. Who am I kidding?
If you weren’t in hockey you would be: Probably a firefighter or in construction
Favourite school subject: History, I liked to read about the world wars
Bitter Leaf Fan: a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan comments on the team, the media and the exasperation...
Answers like those make me like him more.

This is what it should remind you of Karina (with my W.C. translation)-
Even in the Quietest Moments
we shall fight on the ice and in the media,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our goaltender, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight in the corners,
we shall fight on the opening faceoff,
we shall fight in the blogs and the streets,
we shall fight in the playoffs;
we shall never surrender
Plus, there’s little song I’ve always loved-
It’s Raining Again
"We've had an ongoing problem with Grabovski this year." Bob Gainey, 4/04/09
interestingly
Sydney Crosby wants some answers as to why Kelly was fired.
He seems to be using his public face for something other than promoting the NHL…
