Raycroft wins backup job in Vancouver
Some kind of bizarro world going on here. McCabe is captain of the Panthers. Wellwood is in top shape. Raycroft beats our two good prospects for the back up gig. I'm confused.

How do you think ’Nucks fans feel to know they are one freak injury away from Andrew Freaking Raycroft as their starting goalie?
Panic stations in Van City, activate!
Being a Leaf fan here requires one to be sufficiently lubricated... and truculent!
Raycroft is just their to scratch his ass and stop pucks/miss pucks at practice and warm-up. If Luongo got hurt, Schneider would become number one. And there is no use wasting him on the bench.
Or they can trade for Toskala. Come on Gillis he’s an awsome goaltender. He just chooses to let those pucks go behind him. Take him…please for the love of god take him now.
Raycroft’s preseason stats were better than Toskala’s.

It makes sense in a “Schneider should be playing every night in the AHL and showing off once in a while when Luongo needs a break, so someone who’s good at clearing waivers needs to be in the mix” sort of way. There’s a longer and better articulation of that, and I’d link it if I weren’t too lazy to go looking.

it’s by Tom Benjamin. I’m too lazy to find it too.

Vancouver fans better keep their fingers damn close to the panic button, and hold their breaths any time Luongo takes his time getting up from the ice. That is a scary situation they are in that I would not wish upon anyone. Except Habs and Sens fans.

Wellwood is in 'top' shape, sure, but...

I await the inevitable Canucks vs. Leafs game, just for Luongo to get injured and the ’Nucks are forced to go with Raycroft.
Truculence is Everything.
Oh, man. Between that and the Wellwood fat jokes, I think I might spontaneously combust.
