We would have made the playoffs in 07 if Pea never got hurt, no doubt in my mind. We missed by 1 point that year….. Peca would have probably blocked enough shots on his own to allow us to gain another point

you’re right.

i was watching the game at the pub, we were playing chicago if memory serves? about 2 minutes before peca got hurt, a friend and i were chuckling about spezza being injured (which had happened the night before or something). f8cking karma.

Yesterday is dead, but not my memory.

Loved Peca. Felt bad (not too bad,just a little…) when Tucker took him out in the playoffs way back when, but have always liked his game.

I don’t think I’ve ever held over residual hate from when players were on other teams. I had some concerns that Gerber had been properly decontaminated coming over from Ottawa, but that concern was more hygienic than anything.

But he was never so terrible with the Leafs as to warrant such hate. It’s certainly understandable to say that you never warmed up to him, but I don’t understand how there could be such a carry-over-hate from his previous teams. If that’s the way you feel, that’s cool, but for me, I try to give every single new player to don a Leafs sweater a chance to change my mind. Same goes for Bryan Marchment.
