Maple Leafs 3 v. Panthers 2: Last Night's Only Hockey Game

In the only game that happened last night the Toronto Maple Leafs harnessed the power of LEAFSMAN to over come their 21st 2-0 deficit of the year (out of 43 games!!!). Jonas Gustavsson led the Leafs back after Bryan McCabe scored not one but two goals into the Leafs' net. He was helped out by Lee Stempniak, Tomas Kaberle, and an electric Nikolai Kulemin who set up Alexei Ponikarovsky's winning goal. The only question now: will The Monster be able to play three more games in four nights or will Ron Wilson choose to sacrifice two points on the altar of shitty goalies?

One thing I liked about the game last night

Schenn was placed with Kaberle for the most part. I know it’s ‘cause of Komisarek’s injury, but it was nice to see Luke thrive with being a top-4 defenceman for last night.

did Luke thrive? I don’t know. He played fairly well. Better than he has. Thrive would be a stretch.

Luke's

turn over 13 feet in front of his net with 1:30 left was almost a shit storm. Luck was a lady for sure there

You can’t sacrifice 2 points against a team like Philly when the next 2 coming up are in Buffalo and home against Pittsburgh.

See what soul-crushing goal Toskala lets in to Buffalo this time to lose on Friday.
Back to Monster on Saturday to hopefully sneak out an HNIC win over the Pens.

If we can manage 3-1 this week, we should be able to sneak out of the lottery.

Got to see this baby live last night. That Stempniak shot was a cannon! Overall the Leafs played a pretty decent game, with the Monster looking fantastic (he loves kicking out rebounds into the corners). Tonight we cannot rest on our result tonight or tosk away this game against the Flyers!

did far more than mitchell, mitchell was a picture perfect example of the word floater. I know he is returning from injury but come on! Show some sort of form of compete. Disappointing to say the least. Make me eat my words Mitchell I dare you!
