Love the way he's playing lately.

If he keeps this up, Burke is an idiot not to keep him. Well, that’s assuming the money isn’t a big issue – but I doubt it given how badly the guy wants to stay.

Based on the article, it sounds like instead of pushing himself for a good year to earn a big contract, he’s trying to have a good contract to stay with the Leafs.

And holy shit if he keeps this up all season we’d be stupid not to extend him.

I think as of right now, based on his wanting to stay and Leafs cap situation on defense, Leafs have the leverage in negotiations. His play this year will have a lot to do how much and if the Leafs offer.

I’d love if we could get him for a similar cap hit for a 5 year deal, decreasing salary along the lines of 5.5,5.5,5,4,3
