Kulemin Promoted To Top Line
Nik Kulemin has switched spots with Kris Versteeg on the top line at practice. The KBK line is reunited, and the MGV line gets its first trial run in the regular season.

I can see a lot of potential in the grabbo macarthur vesteeg line.
and the kessel bozak kulemin was proven last year, so I’m happy with this
I can also see the potential for a lot of turnovers on the MGV line.
On the other hand, we now have left and right-handed shots on both lines.

Grabo
MacArthur, and Versteeg are all much better at recapturing the puck than most of the other Leaf forwards. Even if they turn it over they can get it back.

true
there could be a potential for them to wreak havoc on the opposition, drawing penalties, and then getting the KBK line on to pot a PP goal.

I am happy with this change. KBK was great last year and Versteeg may benefit from not facing teams best defensive players

Agreed on both points. The VBK line had flash but no jam, like we’ve seen out of KBK. Desparately needed as they need to be stronger on the puck in the o-zone.

kbk was the line that made me sit at attention late last year.. .. good move.

Why not
2 minutes to midnight… or night train… or pineapple night… or any number of things.
I think night is over-rated when being incorporated to Versteeg’s nickname.
Versteeg means dweller on or near a narrow street … I think that relates well to living/working/beating them in the alleyways… I have no idea where to go with that.
Kris Kristeegerson seems to appeal to me though.
Also I think Clarke MacArthur needs to just be called Clark MacArts (and his magical start?) I’m not making much sense right now.

“six to midnight” refers to the position a males’ genitals travel in, whilst being aroused.
It’s an erection. I first heard it in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”

I dunno
if Charles Brodin can do it in Charlie, and then make it back for Beethoven, Beethoven’s 2nd, and I think there was 3rd… I think it can be done…
And what’s wrong with Dustin Hoffman’s career? or Al Pacino?

I’m pretty excited about this. I think Kulemin has a great upside and I’m looking forward to him playing on the top line.

Nota Bene that the headline is Kulemin promoted to top line. I have been really impressed with Kulemin’s play this season he deserves a shot on the top line, hopefully this gives Night Moves a chance to simplify his game against some weaker opponents. This will also make me less worried when our top line gets hemmed in our own end, good things will come of this.

Someone came up with it during pre-season. I can’t remember exactly when but I’ll guess it came after his interesting one on one rush against Philly.

I came up with it shortly after he was acquired. It went like this Versteeg, Steeger, Bob Seger, he likes to dangle and thus Night Moves was born. I always use it, not everyone is on board. Some like Snack Pack which Skinnyfish came up with.

His play throughout the season has been stellar, hopefully he clicks on the top line.

Now if only they could find two dominant centers, or get the ones we have playing better…
I’m hanging in there for Bozak, but he’s gotta get some jam into his game. He’s reminding me a little of John Mitchell right now that that is a very bad thing.
He's actually distinct from Mitchell in two ways.
He has a worse shot, and he seems to apparently play softer D… that’s kinda worrying to me too.

John Mitchell.
and that is a very bad thing also.

I didn’t think John Mitchell was too bad on Saturday and I’m usually one of the JFM haters. He did his job well enough. I still like Zigomanis more, but I’m not all that worried about having Mitchell in the lineup anymore. At least not yet.

to me he looked like a rusty NHLer, or peak JFM form.. i dunno if we’ll see progress but i saw floating and poor hockey sense. I think he’s a bust and will close the book if we don’t see marked improvement before the all-star break. for whatever my opinion is worth, i think it’s a shared sentiment though

Wilson said it before the season began
Mitchell is a good penalty killer, but he sucks for some reason 5 on 5… they were trying to figure out what his problem was before the pre-season ended, and apparently had no real luck.
Not sure how that makes any sense, but I suppose from a defensive perspective the issue would be he’s not good down low in his own end particularly. To me the solution would be to play the damn guy on the wing. The job of a winger 5 on 5 is far more similar to that of a forward on the PK, and if Mitchell’s good at that, let him do it at 5 on 5.

Ouch
Let’s not say things we can’t take back. To get Boak down to Mitchell’s level we’d need to strap huge blinders to either side of his helmet.
and beat him with a stick
