The First Day of Leafsmas
This will be a twelve part series with some great guest contributors. No offense is intended to anyone who isn't a big Christmas person.
On the first day of Leafsmas
Burkie gave to me...
A center for Phil Kessel
The age old story; when you have a first line center all you want is a first line winger. We finally get our winger only after our center is gone.
Christmas is about believing that there's someone out there who knows what you want and who has the power to give it to you. Is Burke that guy? Will he get us the elite center we so desperately need? Here's hoping.

You say elite center, and then you put up a picture of Shaq. I’m so confused.
Negative. I am a meat popsicle.
he’s clearly referring to the kid, he will be our center.

Thats about as elite of a center you’ll get without drafting one.
Mike Weber: Free to roam the ice and take stupid boarding penalties once more.
Everything wrong with the Sabres is Drew Stafford's fault.
I can’t believe all of those kids got Shaq the exact same gift. You’d think they would have called, texted or emailed each other first.
Bitter Leaf Fan: Skepticism, not cynicism.
I just don’t want a Brian Rolston for Christmas, I’m afraid Burke is the GM who is gonna pick him up
AHHHHHH!!!!
If presented with a Brian Rolston during the holidays, follow these three easy steps:
Whatever you do, don’t sign anything. Also, find your team’s GM(s) and steal all his pens, just to make sure.
Stamp “Return to Sender” on his forehead. Make sure to call the doctors to confirm that he has suffered an Upper Body Injury as a result.
Flee with all available haste. Don’t worry, it’s not like he can catch you.

Apart from the salary cap issues, would subbing a Rolston into the lineup for an Orr or a Rosehill or a JFM make us a better team?

“No offense is intended to anyone who isn’t a big Christmas person.”
That statement irks me. Why do Christians have to apologize? (I am not one but It pisses me off). Only Christians seem like they have to change their wording and customs. No one else seems to be apologetic in any way.
You don’t have to answer this. I just wanted to get my rant out. Back to hockey…

Two points, though I tend to agree with what you’re saying:
Christmas isn’t the only religious holiday that happens around this time of year, but it tends to be the only one mentioned. More about discrimination than direct offense, I suspect.
Also… Christians might not have any reasons to apologize, but you could make a case that capitalists sure do :) And it’s become a Coca-Cola holiday more than a Jesus holiday, ’fraid to say.
The elderly: They may seem friendly, but can they really be trusted?
I’m an atheist if it makes you feel better.

Hey me too. Also, it didn’t really sound like an apology, just being polite and acknowledging a diverse range of beliefs. I mean we could easily do some Hanukkah related 8 day post theme, and if I knew anything about Kwanza we could incorporate that somehow, seriously, how does Kwanza work?

Kwanzaa is stupid.
It’s a modern invented holiday in the US honouring African heritage.
Then they need an entire month later in the year to do it again. =P
Ummmmm
All Holiday’s are invented, just because it is more recent doesn’t make it any less valid.
And I think Black History Month is different from Kwanzaa.
