I've just signed up to SB Nation. But I'm not a newbie, I visit this site all the time (like at least twice a day.. ha) I've been coming here so long that even I know who the fuck Tim Brent is!!!1
So I live in Sydney, Australia. But you probably won't find a bigger leafs fan in the world than me. I know everything about em.... Oh what might have been had Luca Cerada worked out. :p
Anyway, I rarely get a chance to vent my frustrations to fellow leafs fans (not to many of them around here). I have lived here all my life, but I have tried to travel as much as possible, many times to the US or Canada. I have taken every opportunity to see the leafs play and have planned my trips around em. Unfortunately my lifetime record when watching the leafs play live is 0-3-2. Opening night, 1989 Vs Boston = Loss... some regular season game in 1991 = tie... Toronto Vs Washing in '08 = 7 - 2 loss (Ovie was amazing btw). I recently visited America again and this lead to my most recent treck was all the way to Long Island for the recent Leafs/Islanders game. Well, we all know how that worked out. Smack dab in the middle of an impressive winning streak, playing great, and then I show up.. and ruin it for everyone. I blame myself. I should have stayed away from the game just so they could win..
All I wanna do is be able to scream as loud as I can when the final buzzer goes and the leafs win!
So the point of this post? Cherish every chance you get fellow Leaf fans! I am insanely jealous of the crowds that even get to witness 20 wins a year! I love the comments from the games and everything that appears on PPP. Keep it up and don't stop a cheering!
Seasons 10/11 - I can't wait! A leafs cup for me 29th b'day? That would be lovely!
