Nonis on Tampa's list of possible GMs
I really really hope this is just Tampa being hopeful, I find it hard to believe that Nonis would think the GM job in Tampa is a better gig than being Burke's right hand man in T.O.

Tough call though. Nonis clearly wants to get back to being the head man and TB has some good pieces in place.

Oh definitely, I just can’t understand how guys like him can do so much in putting together a team (which he and Burke have basically done through blowing us up and rebuilding), and then just walk away for another job. Maybe its just my fanboy-ness.
Burkie put it best… the more of “his” people work as GMs, the better it is for him because they all owe him favours.

What’s better – being an assistant to a cup winning GM, or a cup-winning GM?

On the other hand, ownership’s much more dysfunctional than MLSE.

They do? When did that happen? (Please don’t say six months ago).

Agreed. It would be extremely tough for him to turn down a job that also has Steve Yzerman’s name thrown around with it. You can’t knock Nonis for wanting to have his own team.

He clearly deserves a shot, but I dont WANNA let him go.

Nonis?
Well uh, you don’t want him. Why? Because… because… he uh, smells like fish. Yeah. You wouldn’t want him as your GM, anyway.

Send them Julian, Tampa won’t know the difference

The funny thing is if you make this deal mid week no one in Tampa will hear about it until the weekend.

I’d be disappointed to lose Nonis, but he’s more than capable of running his own show. If he leaves I’ll wish him well… but not too well against us!

No kidding. Rediculous untapped talent there.
