As we are all aware, changes are acomin' here in Leafland. I believe that along with the players and management, the little things need an overhaul as well, such as the song played after the Leafs score at the ACC. After seeing TML Fan Fury's post about the goal horn, I started to think about what should be played after Kessel buries that overtime gamewinner against Ryan Miller next year.
The Leafs current tune, "Kernkraft 400" by Zombie Nation, is a terribly generic techno song that is used by wayyy too many clubs around the world. Boringgg. Leafs Nation is too unique for that, we need something with a bit more kick. Here's my pitch:
In case you are not familiar with the song, it is "The Ballad of Hugo Chavez" by Arkells. I think it'd be pretty neat to have the fans clapping and chanting "HEY HEY HEY!" after the goal horn runs its course. They're a somewhat local band as well (based out of Hamilton).
It reminds me alot of the song played at Blackhawks games after the score ("Chelsea Dagger" by The Fratellis). Simple, yet catchy as hell.
Anyways, that's my suggestion. Pass or fail?
And I'd love to hear what other tunes you guys can think of. All I know is that the song played right now is boring as hell and that we need a more truculent beat to get the boys going. Maybe we can even get the businessmen in the front row into the game? (Ok, I know that's wishful thinking...)
