The average fan really couldn't care less about goal horns or goal songs. However, during the Chicago Blackhawks run to the Stanley Cup you couldn't get away from the distinctive goal horn they had followed by that Chelsea Dagger song. You know the one that just goes da da da, da da da, da da da, repeatedly. While I'm certain the song was annoying for fans of teams playing the Hawks, as a Leaf fan I thought it was great. Really, it didn't matter to me who won the Cup (as long as it wasn't Vancouver). I started to look forward to every Chicago goal scored at home. The slightly annoying but also awesome celebration after every goal would turn the building into the Madhouse...literally. Which brings me to the Leafs.
Currently following a rare Leaf goal at home, we have a very basic horn, followed by that song which no one really knows what it's called but we've all heard it 1000 times at other sporting events. The oh oh oh song. Boring! I think it's time for a change. The Horn I'm not crazy about, I prefer one similar to say Edmonton's which is very distinctive. After the lockout the Leafs ran a poll asking fans to choose their horn from 3 options. Two were distinctive and the one we all chose was I thought was very basic. So while I would like it to change, if the fans voted on it, I can live with it. However I'd like to hear suggestions on songs or verses that we could use after the horn sounds. Something as annoying yet clearly as fun as Chelsea Dagger. Post you suggestions below and after a few I'll put up a poll.
My current suggestion is a bit obscure. The beat from the Hieroglyphics song "The Who". just the beat though. Look it up as Im sure most people have never heard of it
Luca Cereda, possibly changing to Cuca Lereda
Rant: its COULDN'T care less, i hate when people say could care less. It makes no sense.
