Kovalev… I think Lucic was a bit more sneaky about it. Lucic at least put up a half-hearted fight for a bit, Kovalev just turtled the moment after he dropped the gloves.

I didn’t think Kovalev turtled, I think he just got pummelled. He had a golden opportunity when the refs tried to step in initially but he shook free and took his beating like a man.

Yeah, but what else is he going to do? He’s getting pummelled. At least he didn’t drop to the ice and cover up. To me, that’s turtling.

Nothing he could do but it’s still turtling. He would have gone down but Beauchemin was holding him up which the announcers talked about which made me laugh.

yes_Chemmy and I were asking that same question last night. You can clearly see it was never on and his jersey comes up to his neck in the back.
