Anyways, the Senators come to Toronto after suffering a beat down at the hands of Detroit last night. Not only is this the first of six meetings between the Sens and Leafs, but also the first chance for Eugene Melnyk to promote his new nasal orgasm spray to a wider audience. Good luck Eugene. Hope you have better luck than the Senators do in the playoffs.

How about for the sake of everyone else, we just drop this and go back to acting civil. If someone says something you fine offensive or disagreeable, be the bigger person and let it go, ie ignore it… if you can’t make your point about it and move on. For the offender, accept that you made a dumb comment – as seen by the person offended, apologize and move on.
This is a hockey blog where we should be ripping on other teams, their players and fans (if you so wish) not a place where we bicker like two children.

Ya true but all I’m saying is at some point, enough is enough, especially when it seems to some of us (don’t mean to speak on everyone else’s behalf) that there seems to be a pack mentality that allows some regulars to gang up on one. I agree with the ribbing and fun poking. That does make this site fun.
But, there is a difference between calling someone out on one issue, ( in this case the gay marriage issue I think is what upset everyone, myself included) and letting that one opinion determine your reaction to everything the person says.
If someone deserves to be called out, call them out. When someone posts random Senators hate, I would think that would go over very well on this blog. Anyway, I didn’t want to get into a whole thing over this and I mostly agree with you anyway. Peace.

there is another thing people seem to be getting wrong, I don’t just all over certain people all the time because of one specific topic. Making his faceoff prowess even more remarkable is the fact the index finger on his right hand is a bit of a mess. Steckel broke it in 2008 blocking a shot, had the pins removed to play in the postseason and then wasn’t able to bend the finger for a full season.
The injury developed a staph infection, and he came close to losing a few fingers – something that would have ended his faceoff-taking days for good.
These days, the knuckle on his finger is so badly disfigured he compares it to his big toe.
But it doesn’t keep him from doing the thing that makes him more valuable on the ice.
"Now, I can bend it around a stick," Steckel said. "That’s all I need it to do."

All Im sayin is that the guys at Copper&Blue are real high on Gagne, and they do have some cred. I dont kow enough to say so myself. Perhaps they envision him as a Patrice Bergeron type?
They aren’t good trading partners really. All their good forwards are essentially untouchable, and all our “available” players would get us nothing that would substantially improve out club.

Looking at the shift chart from the last game I noticed something interesting:
Wilson had Phaneuf-Gunnar on the ice as much as possible against Cammalari-Plekanec-Kostitsyn and he had the Lupu-Bozak-Kessel out against them as well. That is until the last 10 minutes of the game he put the Frattin-Grabbo-Kulemin line out against the Habs top line.
I wonder if this is something he has done before?

This may be a stupid question, but I’m curious, and I wonder what would be the most effective way to measure.
Is a goalie’s average save % calculated using the average of a goalies save % every game? Or total saves divided by total shots?
ie. Reimer has a 1.00 % after game 1 after 32 shots, and in tonights game theoretically has a 0.900 % on 20 shots, would his average save % for the season be: 0.950% (average save % per game) OR a 0.962% (total saves divided by total shots)?
