Laughed so hard my portable keyboard flew off my lap.
So funny, but not as funny as two hours from now in a pub when Senators and Habs fan friends try to explain why the Leafs are an aberration while the Senators and Habs are relevant…
"According to the statistics, Bester outperformed his teammates in every league that he ever played in, and was easily the best goalie the Leafs had in the 1980s. Despite this, the Momesso goal was essentially the end of Bester's NHL career."

I’d believe it. Talent fees are through the roof now a days for commercials.
Dion Phaneuf: turning the tunes up since '10
but, I wouldn’t be surprised if the agency caught a whiff of the costume and told the construction worker to “get mad” on youtube.
mind you in terms of brand equity, I wouldn’t want that bearded hobo as a spokesperson.
this seems like a really stupid thing to do from any sort of branding perspective.
Dion Phaneuf: turning the tunes up since '10
I’m guessing it’s some construction worker who wanted his video to go viral. What better way than to take a shot at the the goalie of the most popular team in Toronto.
by gettingcozywithsarkozy on Nov 4, 2011 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions
In any case, it was stupid, because with the dedication of the fan base, he’ll probably be getting some kind of threat (verbal, FB, whatever), and some of those threats will probably even be from some people who frequent this site :P
by gettingcozywithsarkozy on Nov 4, 2011 4:42 PM EDT up reply actions
Keep in mind, Tim Hortons is a sponsor of the NHL and professional hockey, even going so far to having pouring rights in some NHL arenas, including the ACC. Probably don’t want that kind of backlash against the Leafs/Reimer like that. probably won’t fare well in renegotiations.

Not bad, but not anywhere near as good as Fable + The Lost Chapters. All three games should have been so much better, but they kept on getting worse for the sake of… realism? Pointless secret handshakes? I don’t get it

Stephen Fry is awesome. However, you should probably take his rants with a grain of salt; for example, one of them is a screed against people who care about writing correctly, in flawless English.
Oh, I'm sorry, just one moment. Is this a five minute argument or the full half hour?

This is so strange. I can’t really understand how James Reimer dressing up as someone in a commercial puts down people in the constrcution industry.
In fact, Darche’s comments about it being a crappy job seem to me, more than anything, to do that.

holy geez tim horton's actor rant!
well ‘tim,’ i can rant too….
that annoying tim horton’s commercial….. it’s on dozens of times per game…. and each time i’m like ‘man that guy who dared to challenge the boss over that disgusting, overpriced sausage thingy and now is eating crow like a pussy, looks a lot like james reimer!’
man… tim horton’s commercials have been irritating and awful for years (memorable though)…. off the top of my head i remember about 12 years ago they had this one where the girl employee proclaims “YES, we have bagels!” and another one where this flubby middle-aged doofus begs for a chicken salad sandwhich, finally getting one at the end of the commercial and exclaiming orgasmically ‘ahhhhh chicken salad sandwhich!’
i wish tim’s would stick to making coffee and donuts, have a commercial that shows classic clips of tim himself rocketing shots from the blue-line, and at the end of the ad morgan freeman says ‘tim horton’s: stop in for a donut and a coffee.’
Somebody doesn't like Tim Horton's!

These are funny if taken the right way
but it saddens me as to the implicit commentary they make on the topic that must not be named.
I shall say one thing, and only one thing about this:
Having a sense of humour is an important thing that makes life better… but once you’ve abused a group to the point of setting up institutional discrimination against them (which you can’t seriously say about cats, dogs or vampires – not SERIOUSLY), then you lose the right to demand that they see the funny side of your behavior towards them. It doesn’t even matter if you personally did the abusing or not, once your group has set it up on an institutional level, it is removed from the realm of your personal discretion.
End of rant.
To honor Chemmy’s delicate sensibilities (and everyone else’s sanity) I won’t reply further to replies to this, so as not to get sucked into a cycle of getting-the-last-word-in (or to be perceived as such).
Also
It wasn’t Tim Hortons that did this. It was The Score.
Guy comes across as crazy serious though. Maybe James can send him some dough for acting lessons ;)
