Five goal third period given up to the Russians in last year’s gold medal game a going concern regarding Visentin for sure. He has a lot to prove when these games really start to count.

Latvia! GOAL!
Yay Riga! 4-3 Sweden in the second. Latvia just scored. Outstanding.
Sweden gonna miss Landeskog and Larsson for sure. Still a very dangerous team of course. Got a guy named Rask in their lineup and a whole slew of other names possibly related to current NHL’ers.
spoonie Visentin definitely should have bailed out his team last year with the gold on the line. Am a little surprised he was chosen by Hay as the starter today, and looks to be the guy for Canada at least so far.
Dammit! Sweden just scored. 5-3 Sweden.

Gustafsson in nets for Sweden. Could he be related to Bengt of 70’s Capitals infamy? A Sundstrom spotted, a Forsberg spotted for Sweden. And others. Gotta hit Google to see if these guys are related to former NHL’ers.

Flyers fans charming nickname for him when he was with Philly. I wondered if Quenneville, Toews and the gang in Chicago would be able to rein in his shitbag tendencies. I don’t know if they have.
