I have been following the PPP for months now and finally decided to join up. For my first post I would like to point out some of the positive things going for the Leafs. Many of the boys in blue are having career seasons (Mac and the USSR line in particular) including some of our prospects such as Luke Schenn and Keith Aulie are starting to look like legitimate shut down D-men. Our goaltenders are beginning to look promising. I have not missed a single game in nearly 5 seasons (been a fan since 99) and one thing I must say is that this team has promise and potential.
The Leafs are building a strong core of players, creating cap space, and developing prospects instead of wheeling and dealing them for past their prime vets. This team is believe it or not 3-4 players away from being a competitor. The first line center is definitely the most pressing issue at present but it will come. Especially now that the Leafs are freeing up cap like it is going out of style. They do need a puck moving D-man with Kabby's imminent departure. And a Vet goalie to mold Prime and Rynnas. When these components are added this will be a very different looking team. Here's a mock roster for the upcoming season.
LW C RW
Kadri B. Richards Kessel
Mac Grabo Kulie
Army Bozak Lupol
Sjostrom Brent Brown
Goalies: Reimer and (Osgood, Jiggy any vet to mentor)
This is OBVIOUSLY a forecast, but it is not out of the question. This is the king of team that can grow together and cause a little trouble in the east.
Anyway Boyos, Cheers.
