Marlies vs. Bulldogs - Aaron Voros' Debut / Joe Colborne To Come
Just figured I'd post an AHL equiv. to the GDT so people can continue the trade convo. I'm not posting a serious preview of the game, but I will mention that this is the first game of Aaron Voros' career in the Leafs organization. Scrivens is in net, and Ryan Hamilton had a hat trick in the last game.
Oh and Nazem Kadri is in the mood to kick ass and take names recently so look forward to tonight's matchup of two playoff bound teams. Bulldogs have lost 5 straight... treat it like a Leafs-Habs game and we'll be all good.

they run Leafs games in HD… just not Marlies… I think it has more to do with AHL games … CBC has HD Cameras at theirs cuz they air them nationally… Marlies games are local broadcasts and they don’t bother with the equipment for the lower viewership.

I guess it would be hard when the channel is completely correlated with the Leafs.
The fact that you need to pay to get LeafsTV might explain things; there are a lot of Cable channels where it makes no sense how they stay in business, that $2/month/person must add up.
yeah
but the other thing is they charge bars a gazillion dollars more than the average viewer to carry it.

I don’t really watch Marlies games enough to care, but like they sell handheld HD cameras now that shoot in 720p, think they could put at least one is for the main broadcast camera.
TV Cameras
and hand held camcorders aren’t really the same … I mean essentially they are in what they do… but I don’t think youd want to watch a game shot on handy cam.

Oh I’m not saying that, just that technology has reached a point that I don’t see how it is too much of an expense to put in an HD camera, just kind of annoying to pay for Leafs TV and they are in SD for everything, including Marlies games, other than when the Leafs are playing.
I think they'll
upgrade it further over time.

I hope they don’t do that, I have Leafs TV but a lot of bars/restaurants don’t subscribe. I had to go to a friend’s birthday at Moxies in December while the Leafs were playing and they had 2 NHL games on but no Leafs.
it's because
of how expensive it is… if they increase the number of subscribers overall then they can lower the cost to bars and restaraunts.

Naz didn’t stay up this year either. Even if he isn’t the next Crosby I’ll still love him for those two reasons :)

he’s scoring at a 2.27 point per game pace in Junior… he’s not just excelling he’s dominating everyone in his age group… that likely continues going forwards.
He’s a very elite prospect.

He played at BU right? On the Nat’l Champs from a few years back, with Colin Wilson. I saw him play a couple games in college, seemed like a solid D Man. Definitely offensive, what makes you think the Rangers don’t want him?

Leafs have 3 pure defensive defenders in their line up right now. they have one “offensive specialist” in Dion and an all arounder in Gunnar. then there is Lebda who is good at nothing
I’d rather take Gilroy for cheap than something the Leafs dont need

No joke, kids. STL-COL trade is legit. @jprutherford has it – Erik Johnson/Jay McClement for Chris Stewart/Kevin Shattenkirk. Done deal.

I don’t get that one.. I guess Shattenkirk wasn’t defensive enough and Johnson wasn’t offensive enough?
