I gotta admit, I was falling off of the BBB (Brian Burke Bandwagon), but then the deadline came along, and suddenly I can see the big picture. And by big I mean BIG. For all of you stataholics, I have a new stat for you: I call it the Burkie. It's used to measure a prospect's chance of being acquired by the aforementioned BB. OK, it goes like this: take a player's height in inches, multiply it by two and add it to his weight in pounds. Voila! The Burkie.
For instance, take a look at three prospects BB has picked up: Mueller, Joe Colborne and Irwin. At 6'3 and 220, Mueller rates a 370, Colbourne also comes in at 370, and the lightweight Brayden Irwin comes in at 369. And the biggest prospect? Jamie Devane, whose Burkie measures up at a whopping 371! I figure this has to be part of the plan: build a team that can compete along the wall. Anyone remember a time when we played folks like Osborne and Eastwood?
