The Leafs As Autobots?

I was thinking today about all the reasoning behind the "Optimus Reim" nickname and in the process I got to thinking about the other Autobots people are familiar with...Red Alert, Bumblebee etc. and I started thinkin; wouldn't Red Alert be a sick name for Kessel?  So naturally the idea took me for a ride and I've listed some Autobot equivalents to key Leafs players after the jump!  Some have explanations from this wikipedia page.

James Reimer: Optimus Prime (obviously)

Prime's the stabilizing force of the Autobots, just like James is the charge that has had the Leafs running since his call-up

Phil Kessel: Red Alert

Let's get real, the tear this kid was on a little while ago? might as well have been a siren going off every time he crossed the blue line.  Red Alert obviously playing off the red goal light. Red Alert's description also goes like this: 

"Brave and professional but pessimistic. On one occasion suffered from delusional paranoia."

Pessimism? delusional paranoia? sounds like his issues with Wilson a couple months ago...glad that's behind us.

Nazem Kadri: BumbleBee

-"often volunteers for missions where his small size is an asset. He also possessed the best eyesight of all the Autobots which made him an ideal scout."

With "scout" read playmaking dynamo and that lends itself quite nicely i think.

Dion Phaneuf: Omega Supreme

- "Emotionless, speaks in two-word sentences (except in his feature episode). Holds a long-standing grudge against the Constructicons."

Feature episode? read "on the ice and in the room"....Constructicons? read anyone who cuts across that blueline.

Plus, Omega Supreme? let's get real, I dont think you can come up with a better name for a Captain.

Luke Schenn: Ironhide

-Tough, Head of Security

Hits like a truck, and the kid's a 21 yer old phenom putting up with the Toronto media...enough said.

Mikhail Grabovski: Hot Rod

Hot Rod takes over from Optimus as leader of the Autobots in the original movie...who's been leading our offense?  Plus, two words come to mind watching stuff like this and this: Hot Rod.

Colby Armstrong: Sideswipe

Lesser known Autbobot, but read the description:

"Very brave, but also reckless and tends to use dirty tricks to achieve victory. Carries a rocket pack that allows him to fly for short periods."

Agitation? check...leadership? check...rocket pack? sure why not.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere: Kup

"Old and wise mentor with a wry sense of humor and a penchant for telling stories of his many experiences."

Yup.
