You can't imagine my relief this morning when I saw that Damien Cox had decided NOT to fire Ron Wilson. I can only imagine how relieved Mr. Wilson must be.
Now, I have to admit I noticed a slight shift in the sands the other day when Mr. Negativity made a comment about Mr. Wilson deserving some of the praise for the Leafs turnaround, seeing as how he has been blamed for such a long time for the Leafs Latest Woes. I suppose that this is Mr. Snarlymouth's attempt at being a journalist. Now I'll admit I'm biased here, because I quit journalism school in favour for a government job, but I still agree with Tie Domi when it comes to the TO media, and would pay double my allowance to see him square off with a few of the blokes on the Leaf Beat. Beat being the operative word. The reason I'm really writing this though, is one thing that Coxie did point out: it's amazing how good goaltending increases a coach's IQ. You see, it really does all come down to save percentage!
Now that we have someone actually stopping more shots than your local peewee house leaguer, it's actually fun to be a fan (again!), which brings me to Reimeritis. It seems that everyone in the Nation is quite delerious from being infected with Reimeritis, so I thought I should mention a little tidbit I saw buried in one of the Sun's articles waaay back in September. Whilst discussing the goalies in camp, the article mentioned James Reimer, and it simply stated that there were some in the organization that felt he had the makings of blooming into a true Number One goalie. One quiet little comment six months before the pandemic. Whoda thunk?
Eat that rubber, hey?
