How the Leafs could draft: A view from the Lighthouse Hockey mock draft
Over at Lighthouse Hockey, we had a mock draft for the 1st round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. I was given the opportunity to pretend to be Brian Burke for the Leafs' first round picks. While I'm not a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, it gave me a challenging and fun opportunity to not only learn about some prospects that may become Leafs property this weekend, as well as learn about some of the long term needs and depth waiting in the wings for the Leafs. Naturally, I used Pension Plan Puppets as one of my reference tools in making my mock decisions.
#25 overall - Brandon Saad, LW
#30 overall - Scott Mayfield, D
Feel free to glance over the above links, make critiques of my decisions, take in some related YouTube videos, etc.

I'd be happy with those picks
Wouldn’t be my choices if I had the pick of the litter, but we gotta be realistic – very good chance most of the highest rated are snapped up before our turn comes around.
Crazy would be NOT overanalyzing everything.
