Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

"I think there’s got to be an argument (Carkner) is the toughest in the league, for sure" - Zenon Konopka, who has obviously been punched in the head too many times. If this quote doesn't warrant 15 minutes in the quiet room, I don't know what does.

It sounds like the Senators are trying to fight their way through games…which will fail so spectacularly that it’ll be amusing :)

We were on the same boat two years ago, though

Sometimes it seems this cycle never ends, we slide from top to bottom then we turn and climb again.

He keeps getting his ass kicked by Orr and coming back for more. Konopka might be onto something

I particularly like how the link in the fanshot goes back to the fanshot! its an infinite loop ahhhhhhh!

On the Mike Weber bandwagon!
I hate Christian Ehrhoff because he should have been Tomas Kaberle.

Someone on twitter (a new york reported guy, can’t remember who) said Carkner was the reigning heavyweight champ. I didn’t care enough to argue because it is just factually wrong, and figured other tweeters would yell at him better than I could.

This reminds me of your typical Orr-Carkner fight. I think you can guess which one Carkner is.

First I’m gonna kick your ass, then I’m gonna kick the ass of your friends… in alphabetical order
So he’s gonna need some names.

In response...

Colton Orr said absolutely nothing.

Colton Orr’s hands do the talking.

Lucic/Thornton/Chara/Horton would not only shitkick the likes of Carkner/Konopka/Smith/Neil, they’d skate circles around them too. And our group of Phaneuf/Schenn/Aulie/Komisarek is a tough bunch too. The difference is the guys Ottawa has assembled spend half the game chirping.

by lucc on Jul 6, 2011 4:21 PM EDT reply actions

To be fair, Chris Neil likes to skate circles around the people he chirps at.

In other words, Ottawa’s toughness plan is ‘be Vancouver East.’

East Van’s got 99 problems, but hockey ain’t one of them. (seriously).

Move along. Nothing to see here...

If you insert the word “zombie” after “toughest”, it is factually true, on account of the number of times Colton Orr has personally killed him.

This reminds me of the time...

…that you wanted to see your buddy get his ass kicked so you goaded him into a fight by telling him he was the best and could easily whoop his opponent…

That was a good fight

Orr was kicking Engelland’s ass until that one punch

When you throw bombs like that without defending you’re bound to take a hard one once in a while. I think that fight actually shook Orr up for the rest of the year

yeah, orrs style leaves him open way too often, he tends to get caught at least twice a year
but it is a hell of a lot more exciting than the “hugging judo throw” fights that others seem to favour
