Keith Aulie vs Scott Hartnell
Game -Toronto Maple Leafs vs Philadelphia Flyers
Fighters - Keith Aulie vs Scott Hartnell
Keith Aulie gets challenged by Scott Hartnell and he drops his gloves for his first NHL fight.
Fight talk and more videos after the jump.
How the fight started
Keith Aulie throws Scott Hartnell down into the boards and then Danny Briere comes in from behind on Aulie and crosschecks him in the back (no penalty) sending him down to the ice.
When Hartnell gets up he sees Aulie on his knees on the ice so he gets in a quick shove and then when Aulie gets up Hartnell challenges him and Aulie quickly accepts and the two drop their gloves.
The Fight
Keith Aulie goes off balance at first and to his credit he takes a punch or two before he quickly unloads two right hands and sends Scott Hartnell to the ic.
This was Keith Aulie's first NHL fight and it earned him the nickname Muhammad Aulie.
Fight Winner
Down Goes Hartnell - Need I say more?
Danny Briere
Somehow he got away with that crosscheck with the referee looking directly at him, I doubt if that was Mike Brown on Kimmo Timonen no penalty would have been called.
The Game
This was one of the best games from last season. This was right near the end of the season when the Maple Leafs for making a push for the playoffs and they went into a very tough place to play in Philadelphia and came away with two huge points.
The Leafs won thanks to these game winning goal by Darryl Boyce and this great last second glove save by James Reimer.
Game Winning Goal
Great dump into the corner and good puck battle by Boyce and he comes out and puts in the back of the net.
Boyce played well for the Maple Leafs last year and re-signed with them this season, he is a solid 3rd or 4th liner but I doubt he makes the team out of camp.
Game Winning Save
I could have sworn there was talk last season that James Reimer had a bad glove hand?
Briere was not rewarded with the game tying goal after his crosscheck went uncalled earlier in the game and Reimer bails out Aulie who had the terrible turn over.
Towards the end of the season the Maple Leafs came away with huge wins in Boston, Buffalo, Philadelphia and Montreal. Lets hope that can continue this season.

Possibly the most fun I had watching a Leafs game all season. That or the Sabres game down the stretch where Joe Bowen almost blew his voice out.

I honestly can’t take it anymore. My fiance I’m confident will leave me if hockey doesn’t start soon. I’m getting a tad swirly lol

You’re sticking your head in a poop-filled toilet and flushing? Dear lord! Here I thought my random, uncontrolled weeping was bad.

This.
Out with staged, in with spontaneous self defense!
