Darcy Tucker vs Matthew Barnaby

Game - Pittsburgh Penguins vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Fighters - Darcy Tucker, Matthew Barnaby

Both Tucker and Barnaby made an NHL career out of driving teams and fans crazy while being able to actually play the game.

More talk and fight videos after the jump.

The Fight

It was said best during the fight video that it was like these two were looking in the mirror during the fight.

Barnaby takes Tucker into the net and that causes the the tension to begin!

This was three games before the 2000 playoffs and it was Tucker's 5th fight as a Maple Leaf after the trade between the Lightning and the Leafs.

Both Tucker and Barnaby fought all comers throughout their careers and that usually meant fighting the bigger and badder guys who they probably shouldn't have been fighting.

Tucker stood 5"10 and 180 lbs soaking wet and Barnaby stood 6"0 and 190 lbs.

Both guys landed some big shots and this fight got everyone at the Air Canada Centre on their feet and making some noise.

I would say Tucker threw more punches and probably landed a bit more and but Barnaby landed the bigger of the shots. Tucker had his crazy face going and his usual black eye in the penalty box after the fight. (I would say Tucker played 60% of his career with the Leafs with either a black eye or a cut on his face).

Barnaby vs Leafs

I hated Matthew Barnaby but I would have taken him on the Leafs anytime between 1997 and 2003.

He was a giant pain and ran his mouth more then probably anyone else to ever play the game. The difference with him compared to others was that he actually dropped his gloves and fought.

He was his usual annoying self against the Leafs and that lead to more memorable fights against the Blue and White.

In this particular fight filled game between Rangers and the Leafs he took two major beatings from Tie Domi.

Also on this particular night he found himself going toe to toe against an amused and smiling Owen Nolan.

I guess it comes as no surprise to anyone that Barnaby had to retire because of..... you guessed it.. concussion problems.

More fights next Monday and Tuesday.
