I’ve been to a Leafs practice. I’ve seen pictures and videos of them at practice. In ever picture or video they appear to be using regulation hockey pucks. If that’s the case and as they always say “practice like you play”, then why in the name of all that is holy are the Leafs making passes as if it were an egg on their sticks.

He’s just made a very stupid decision to start a goalie back to back. What’s more, it’s clearly a stupid decision because he did the same thing with Gus against the Rangers after the Buffalo game. And we lost the Rangers game then.
Eakins at least can get good performances out of young players.

Eakins gets good results out of young players at an AHL level against AHL competition, don’t pretend for a second that is just butter smooth to translate to the NHL
the goaltending decision has NOTHING to do with the Leafs play tonight, and that kills any argument you have currently made about Wilson being the reason the Leafs are losing tonight

Mentioned last week that there was some interest in Korbinian Holzer, a Toronto defenceman playing for the AHL’s Marlies. Afterwards, heard one of the reasons the Maple Leafs are trying to move an NHL defenceman is to make room for Holzer on the big club.
23. Wasn’t hugely surprised to hear the Maple Leafs may consider dealing Mikhail Grabovski. (They are listening to pitches). He’s a UFA and Toronto may see a contract issue. Was very surprised to hear they were listening to talk about Nikolai Kulemin. He’s an RFA having a down year, but I really like his game. Is the poor season just a blip, or a really bad omen?
24. Opponents on why Phil Kessel’s having a better season: he’s doing a much better job of getting back, which allows him to break out of the Toronto zone with speed. Before, it was easier for defencemen to close in on him. By the time he’s in proximity, he’s coming at them faster than ever. Now, teams (the Rangers especially) have adjusted, getting their forwards to muck up his timing in the Maple Leafs’ zone. It will be up to Kessel to adjust back.

Was the refing as bad (but bad in our favour) as it seemed? Looked like we got away with quite a bit, but then I wasn’t watching all that close.
Seems like we just did to the Isles what Ottawa did to us last week.

The reffing was bad. I was watching the Islanders feed though, so they were only showing the penalties that should have been against the Leafs.
