During this lockout a lot of us have felt frustrated at the idiocy of the two sides bickering back and forth. There is little we can do to show our displeasure other than angry tweets or comments.. This is not very productive
Most of us on here agree lockout protests rallies are also a waste of time. It's not the best way to show your displeasure with the lockout, especially when only 5 people show up.
Others have suggested boycotts on the NHL when they eventually come back but realistically most of us, especially those of us that frequent hockey blogs, aren't going to do that. It's an idle threat . I do, however, have another suggestion.
I know that if the season had already started I would have spent at least some money on the NHL/Leafs. Maybe I'd have bought a ticket to a game. I could have possibly bought a jersey,. I may have even spent some money at a bar. So a friend and I were discussing this and thought about spending this money on a charity instead. No, not the bucket at the rally asking for money for ushers. I want to donate to a charity that helps youth play hockey, whether it's one that gives equipment or helps pay fees
This communtity has been very good at charity in the past so I wanted to share this idea with you guys/girls. If you have any suggestions for charities or want to get in on this idea please suggest some in the comments. If you think I'm crazy to spend money on this, you can also share that too.
Thanks for your help/suggestions
