I’d take it as the goal song. Mainly because I don’t care nearly as much about goal songs as victory songs. But the win song needs to be Heave Away.

I wish him well and no one would love to see the leafs hold the cup than I would. There was a lock out , then the next year the leafs lost because to new york teams conspired to get the last position -new jersey and islanders. it was deliberate. Then they did to Andrew Raycroft what they are now doing to Toskala. It must be remembered that toskala did not play all 82 games, how many did cujo win, or grber. Cut him some slack and instead of cannonizing the Monster before he is even dead – let the season speak for itself. I do not know about the cup but LEAFS WILL MAKE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR – NO CUJO finally I would like to see our defence give our goaltenders the kind of net coverage other team goaltenders enjoy.

They round up. If it says “100.0%” then the chance is less than 0.05% that they miss the playoffs. If they get to a point where there is no simulation (among countless millions) where they miss the playoffs, it’ll say “Yes” instead.

Go to your extensions (by clicking on the wrench in the top right) and make sure it is enabled.
As well I should note it doesn’t make comments that are rec’d blue. It makes comments that were green’d blue (it takes 3 recs on PPP to get green’d/blue’d)

As it stands, the Leafs need to beat out just one of the Senators, Panthers, or Capitals, and even though the Leafs are likely fourth of four on that list in terms of team quality, they’ve probably got a better than 50% shot at making it in.

In that I wrote it, I feel somewhat compelled to defend my position. The Leafs’ success so far this season has been driven mostly by shooting percentages on the PP (4th in the NHL before tonight) and at EV (3rd in the NHL before tonight). That’s not generally something that has much sustain. Their Fenwick percentage with the score close was the lowest of those four teams coming into tonight, and they have the most road-heavy schedule too. I think having the Leafs fourth of those four teams is pretty reasonable.

This is where advanced statistics start to bother me.
Sure, you can see that the Leafs’ success is driven by a good shooting percentage in a certain situation or by a certain player outperforming a previous level, but the pass Grabovski made last night on the powerplay to Franson has nothing to do with the previously established powerplay percentage or Franson’s shooting percentage.
Did the fact that Grabovski had previously assisted on X number of powerplay goals per Y number of powerplay opportunities have any influence on that play? Nope. Doubt it.
It was a situational play that Grabovski nailed. And while you might not be able to quantify that, I feel like this Leafs team finally is starting to nail their situational play.

As to your own argument, I’m not sure that I completely understand what you’re trying to say. If your argument is that the results of each player aren’t predetermined by their previous statistics, this is obviously true. Even with the team stats I’ve used, the Leafs might start doing a better of pushing the play into the offensive zone than they have in the past, and do a better job on the road than they have in the past. A prediction is just a guess, really, and I’m trying to base my prediction on the most likely outcome based on the available information. The responses to my argument here (before I arrived) were all completely dismissive, which suggests that the folks commenting found it ridiculous. I don’t understand why that would be the case.

Well most people will get a boost by playing with Kessel (and I suppose Lupul now) but I agree. I just hope this is indicative of his play improving not a peak.

Lupul and Kessel have really clicked……….they garner a lot of attention and Bozak in turn gets a lot of open ice. And to boot, Grabbo and Mac have turned up the heat for their line giving the Leafs a two headed offence that they have rarely had this season…….let’s hope both lines can keep it going and the team can continue it’s disciplined play.
