The Leafs have been a truly wretched hockey club for a month and a half now but because no one in front of them wants to win they're six points back of eighth and playing them today. A Leafs win puts them two points behind the teams tied for 9th place with a game in hand; though Leafs fans are more than aware of the fact that this team's history suggests pessimism.
Still, this could be the turning point. The Leafs aren't the 25 points over a full 82 game season that their February and March suggested because really no team could be that bad for very wrong. Will this club win and make an honest fight in March and April or will they be the same old Leafs: squandered points and a run that's always too little too late?
