Burke Gets His Man

The long-rumored JVR-for-Schenn swap happened yesterday, and Henny had everyone anxious for a "next deal." Speculation has been that the Luongo trade is finding some middle ground - and if it isn't, could the Leafs nudge Gillis along with a predatory offer sheet on RFA Corey Schneider?

The Leafs suddenly have a glut of good wingers - Kessel, JVR, Kulemin, MacArthur, and Lupul, and have freed up a position at RD to promote Holzer or promise Schultz. At the very least, Franson will probably see a little more ice time. It'll be interesting to see if Burke can upgrade the defense and goaltending now, as, excluding the need for a top line center, the top six is starting to look good.
