Leafs Sign Holzer, Take Kulemin To Arbitration

Don't leave me, buddy. (Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)

As Cam Charron points out, Nikolai Kulemin is scheduled to have an arbitration hearing on August 4th. Naturally, we all hope that it doesn't come down to that, but there are definitely a lot of wingers in the depth chart, and a trade could yet be looming for Leafs' fans' second-favourite Russian.

Of course, maybe Kulemin's agent and Brian Burke just need a bit more time to work things out, and a deal is already in the works. Fingers crossed.

It's a tough deal to make, with Kulemin having a career year in 2010-11, and then regressing rather abruptly in 2011-12. What would you award him?

Leaf fans: where are you in these lazy, hazy days of summer: up, down, or in a wait and see mode?
I'm in the 'wait and see' camp, because I'm just optimistic that way. From Michael Langlois.

More GMs should spend July 1st out of the office
It would mean a little less crazy in free agency. Danny Gray thinks Brian Burke has the right idea.

How about Mikhail Grabovski with Phil Kessel?
I'd be happy to give this a shot, but things seem to work so much more neatly if Tim Connolly can play as Kessel's C. Fromr Cam Charron at the Leafs Nation.
