Hi everyone,

I'm from Los Angeles and, after watching the Stanley Cup with my Red Wings friend, I decided to start getting into hockey. I know basically nothing about it. I'm a huge football, soccer, basketball, and UFC fan. I've wanted to get into hockey for awhile and finally want to commit to it. Being from LA, the natural team choices were the Kings or the Ducks due to proximity, or the Coyotes because I go to college in Arizona. However, I didn't want to bandwagon onto the Kings, I don't like the Ducks, and eh @ the Coyotes. I arbitrarily picked the Maple Leafs. I don't know why, don't ask. I'm gonna stick to it. I recently picked up NHL 13 to slowly learn rosters and whatnot, though this is a terrible way to actually learn the sport, I imagine. I also bought NHL GameCenter with a couple buddies so I can actually watch games.

Basically the point of this post is to ask for help. Who are the fan favorites? Who do the fans generally dislike(I'll pick and choose here, obviously)? Which teams should I hate? Which players should I hate? Are there any particular twitter people I should follow for general hockey insight or, more specifically, Maple Leafs insight? Etc. Etc.
