Caesarian dissection: Beware the ides of March! Looking at possible point totals for Leafs players.

Here's predictive look at how key Leafs players should finish the season(source Hockey-reference.com)

Cody Franson:

The 'Code' is often times difficult to like and hate. He usually excels at doing both at the same time. He still struggles with occasional Lebda-like play, but often makes up for his mistakes in the same game, with a beauty-goal or game-changing pass that leads to a goal.

Has found himself in Randy's doghouse for his so-called defensive miscues that often have those of us who see otherwise often in question. Not a career year for him, technically speaking, but with so many different Leafs troubles and 2nd pairing minutes these are still good numbers:

Dion Phaneuf:

Like Tyler Bozak, Phaneuf often divides Leafs fans between those who hate him and those who love him.

While his PPG totals have seen a significant drop-off the trade-off has been better defensive numbers and +/- totals. Here's a look at how Dion's game has changed. And, not necessarily for the worse:

Tyler Bozak:

The often criticized default 1C is also set for a career year. His numbers would be higher if he hadn't missed as many games due to injury.

Mason Raymond:

To say the least at $1.0/per Raymond is an incredible value, and due for a huge raise next season either in Toronto or elsewhere. These are great numbers for a guy who, like Kulemin is often shifted between lines.

Nikolai Kulemin:

Big-Nik has basically been demoted from 1st to 2nd and 3rd line duty. Like Grabovski, he's dwindled from being a featured player to a defensive-role player. He's still useful when used in the right situations, but his numbers which are declining shouldn't shock anyone since they are on par with his limited play:

Joffrey Lupul:

via 1.bp.blogspot.com

Since JVR's arrival, Lupul's found himself demoted to mostly 2nd and sometimes 3rd line duties. Still, he's a potent scorer. He's also struggled with some injury problems this season. Still, for a 2nd liner, these are also notable numbers. Exactly the type of production you'd want from a 2nd liner.

Nazem Kadri:

via www.canada.com

The sometimes inconsistent Kadri, is becoming a proven 2nd line Center. Though often cited by coaches as not a good enough 200-foot player, Kadri has a stand-out talent that often begs you wanting more of it. Still, he is productive. For a guy who's been mostly a 2nd line center this year, these are good numbers for an often questioned 2nd line Center.

The other part of this dynamic-duo is also set for a career year. JVR's almost the perfect fit for Kessel, and his .81PPG output is exceptional. Now a bonafide 30/30 threat.

Phil Kessel:

via www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com

Kessel is on pace tie last year's PPG output of 1.08 PPG. But will fall just short of a 50G, 100 point campaign. His season totals would make him the highest-scoring Leaf player since Mats Sundin's run listed below, and yes this says something both about Kessel and Sundin's abilities.
