The Toronto Marlies opened up training camp, and twelve of your ECHL friends attended! Two of them, Ryan Massa and Taylor Doherty, also attended Leafs camp.

The Solar Bears currently in Toronto are:

Forwards: Adam Brace, Connor Gaarder, Denver Manderson, Johnny McInnis, Bryan Moore, Sebastien Sylvestre and Patrick Watling

Defensemen: Eric Baier, Chris Bradley and Taylor Doherty

Goaltenders: Ryan Massa and Jay Williams

You can read up on these players here, here, and here from Mr. Don Money.

Everyone say howdy for me, okay?

Recaps

Here’s Katya’s from last night!

Maple Leafs beat Sabres by a touchdown in exhibition play from the Toronto Sun

Sabres Disappointed In Effort After Loss To Leafs from the Sabers website. I’ll say.

In our division, SCOC tells us that the Bruins were very happy to beat the Red Wings, and WIIM asks, How many Matt Lorito puns can we make this pre-season?

In more Leafs news, the new anthem singer is all ready for her debut. She’s 15!

Unsigned RFAs are giving us nightmares

A few unsigned players are refusing to report to camp until they are under contract. One is Nikita Kucherov, the other is Hampus Lindholm. Blargh. (By the way, the Kucherov link is to my favorite Steve Simmons of Tampa, Martin Fennelly.)

Let’s go stalk RFA defensemen with Puck Daddy.

There's still a bit of fallout from the World Cup of Hockey

Mirtle goes over what he felt went right and wrong. Nobody expected Team Europe to CRY.

Down Goes Brown pointed out that the tournament was good because the best team won, but, uh, it didn't really have much suspense.

And Wyshynski wrote an Ode to Hockey Dominance.

Oh, Habs

Puzzling news from the Habs via La Presse this morning. Paccioretty apparently decided that the whole problem was a lack of team communication, so he changed the order of stalls in the dressing room.  Ummmm.

Happy Saturday! Real hockey approaches!
