Team USA announced today that James van Riemsdyk will be named to the U.S. World Cup roster.

The 27-year old winger from Middleton, NJ will enter his fifth season with the Leafs in 2016-17. He put up 14 goals and 29 points in an injury-shortened 40 game season. Also named to the team today were Erik Johnson (COL), Jack Johnson (CBJ), Matt Niskanen (WSH), David Backes (STL), Brandon Dubinsky (CBJ), and Ryan Callahan (TBL).

Van Riemsdyk joins Leo Komarov (Finland), Nikita Zaitsev (Russia), Milan Michalek (Czech Republic), and Morgan Rielly (North America) as Leafs that will play in the World Cup this September.
