Have you ever asked someone something, and they quickly responded with a wag of the finger and the ever popular, “I can’t tell you,” line? It’s a lot more frustrating as a kid, but it doesn’t get any easier when you’re older. However, there are times where the public doesn’t need to know everything that’s going on, and the Leafs are a prime example of that.

Think back to past managerial regimes who didn’t know the meaning of keeping things quiet if they ran into it in the middle of a forest. Adding the likes of Brendan Shanahan and Lou Lamoriello to the picture gave fans something they haven’t experienced in years.

Gone were the days of general managers making claims and justifying poor deals that didn’t make any sense (Yes Dave Nonis, we still cared about years five, six, and seven). The only people who needed to know the goings on of the organization were the ones in charge of getting certain things done. I mean insiders knew as well, but that’s beside the point here.

The Leafs went through nearly three years of this, and the fan base was receptive to it, except for now. I may be alone in this argument, but there are several things that I want to know.

Will Lou and Mark Hunter move on to another team?  How will the extensions of the Big Three in Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Mitch Marner be handled? What will Kyle Dubas’s first move be as the 17th general manager in franchise history? Was he telling the truth about not knowing what Fortnite was?!

Then I watched Mike Babcock and his second appearance on Dreger’s Cafe in Denmark. Last year, we got a hunch that the Leafs were scouting players taking part at the World Hockey Championships from the interview, but this year’s was largely about his relationship with the players. One player in particular.

Babcock replied in the way many would expect. However, something he said struck a philosophical nerve in me.

True, very true, but what I would do to get that kind of access. And then it hit me. Platforms like Netflix are taking the internet by storm providing millions around the world with something to watch. I strive to create something more intuned with the hopes and desires of the Leafs fanbase.

I present to you, The Leafs Transparency Subscription (or LTS for short). For a monthly charge of $19.67, fans will have access to the Basic Plan which includes:

  • Babcock’s Player Fondness List
  • Nazem Kadri’s Locker Room Playlist
  • Dubas’s three-month agenda
  • Season-long audio transcriptions of player meetings/

But wait, that‘s not all. For an additional charge of $4.10, you will be given a business hour feed of the Leafs locker room to learn all that goes on behind the scenes. If that’s not enough, using the secret code found somewhere in this post will grant viewings of the Leafs front office meetings.

I can’t take all the credit for this idea, Hardev helped as well.

Talk about a good deal as well as the perfect way to keep you level-headed this offseason.
