All paths to Lord Stanley end here. It's been a battle to get to game seven of the final. Even though we knew the Leafs were so far from touching the playoffs, there is a feeling of...something, because the season is truly coming to an end. Perhaps it's just a short while until the beginning of next season, but for us hockey fans its more or less eternity. In the meanwhile we will be pouring over the draft prospects and trying to predict the moves the club will make. Even after the Draft, we'll analyzing but hopefully panicking less. What do we have in store tonight? Marc Andre Fleury is going to see if he can stand tall when it counts and hold off the Red Wings at the Joe. The Wings will of course be fierce with the home ice advantage and the Penguins will be throwing everything they have at Chris Osgood. Dan Bylsma ate his lucky burrito and Evgeni Malkin's mother made borscht. Henrik Zetterberg will be one of the top threats to the Pens. I wonder how this will all unfold. Well after tonight, some men will be glad to shave their beards off and others will see it as a sign of the end. It's been a wonderful season and I've loved doing game threads. Thanks for putting up with my insanity and often questionable musical choice and I look forward to next season.

PITTSBURGH @ DETROIT 8 PM EST NBC CBC RDS. The Penguins battled back to win two games at home to tie the series again the Red Wings. Now, it's a two out of three situation for Lord Stanley. The Pens have chance to capitalize on momentum coming off two wins, but can that be done in Detroit? Coach Babcock said that Pavel Datsyuk will be returning to the Wings line up tonight after sitting out games from a foot injury. Evgeni Malkin continues to be a bulldozer, with a wreckin' ball attached, demolishing any Red Wing in his path. But the Pens have also had to work out a containment strategy for Henrik Zetterberg, who has been on the warpath of his own. Octopi will being flung.

DETROIT @ PITTSBURGH 8 PM EST VERSUS CBC RDS. Tonight is Game 4. The Penguins won with Game Three with Maxime Talbot showing his superstar status. Evgeni Malkin is racking up the points and the Pens proved they still have the fight left to potentially even up the series tonight. Pavel Datsyuk is still a question mark but Pens head coach Dan Bylsma said he expects Datsyuk to lace up skates for this game. Marc Andre Fleury hasn't exactly been sterling but appears to be getting back on track. At the very least the team in front is stepping up to make the Wings work for it. Kris Draper is still probably out tonight for Detroit.

DETROIT @ PITTSBURGH 8 PM EST VERSUS CBC RDS. I am overwhelmed by the shiny newness of the editing pane on SBN. I have no idea what I am doing besides typing out the game thread. The series stands at 2-0 Red Wings but the Penguins have proved they reallllly like to play in their home arena and have taken to barring Michigan natives from buying octopi. OMG I just read on Leahy's twitter that Kris Letang is out, Philip Boucher is in. The last two games have been exactly thrilling since they have both ended with the same score. Except at the end of one of the games Evgeni Malkin punched a dude.

Except perhaps people who follow other hockey leagues and know this is common. Their typical response is "man up, moose" and I have to agree. Pavel Datsyuk looks to be out for the Wings injured still. So is Don Draper, I mean Kris. Marc Andre Fleury was a puppy on a linoleum floor last night. He was sloppy and in all the wrong places. But this is a best of seven series and it's not like last night was a total blowout. Really it could have been worse than it was.
