Last night TVA Sports reporter broke a minor league signing after the Marlies were finished clearing out their lockers.

Nikolas Brouillard shared ice time with two Maple Leafs prospects this past QMJHL season. He began the year with Dmytro Timashov and the Quebec Remparts, and at the trade deadline was moved to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, joining Martins Dzierkals.

In the Q this year the left handed defenseman had 17 goals, 42 assists for 59 points in 54 games. He scored 1 goal and one point with the Huskies in the Memorial Cup tournament.

His career stats are below:

Brouillard is signed to an AHL contract and could end up playing with either the Toronto Marlies or the Orlando Solar Bears, depending on how camp goes.

The Toronto Marlies currently have an abundance of defense and can see more with other junior prospects like Travis Dermott, Andrew Nielsen, and Stephen Desrocher able to make the jump to the AHL as well.
