Last night the Marlies played with a depleted roster that included a defenceman from the Solar Bears on the fourth line and other interesting lineup choices.

Mark, who writes about the Marlies for Maple Leafs Hot Stove had an idea to fix it:

The Leafs brass had another trick up their sleeve though. Today they signed Tylor Spink to an ATO (amateur tryout), and he's set to play this afternoon when the Marlies take on the Providence Bruins.

Where'd they find him?

Down the road a long way in Toledo playing in the ECHL for the Toledo Walleye in a game against the Brampton Beast on Friday night. He scored his first professional goal in a win for his team.

Prior to that Tylor and his twin brother Tyson were the stars of the Colgate Raiders where they led the team in scoring. Tylor's the wing who shoots right and Tyson in the centre who shoots left. Yes, they're the mirror image of each other.

It's Tyson who was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award this year. And their point totals are very symetrical. Tylor had 13 goals and 21 assists and Tyson had 14 and 23. They've always wanted to turn pro as a pair.

So the question has to be asked, Marlies: Why not both?
