From the Branches: Leafs play well in honorable defeat, rinse, repeat

New, comments

It's a story we're going to hear over and over until players with offensive power rise.

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Last night was so busy that it's 3:20 AM and I'm finally finishing up these links. I went from taking a friend to dinner for her birthday to attending the Solar Bears game to a Halloween party, but I vowed that I wouldn't forget my PPP children tonight. Speaking of being a mom, I slipped and used mom voice during my game tweets.

Yeah, I mean, it was Ryan Massa's first ever professional start (and win) and they kicked his water bottle through OTHER PEOPLE'S SPIT.

Aside from that moment of sheer WTF-ery, the game was great. You can read the recap from my friend Don Money over here, I'll have interviews with Rodewald and Massa up later.

Toronto Maple Leafs Should Not Rush to Acquire Steve Stamkos | Rant Sports
"It is pretty obvious that if Yzerman does indeed trade Stamkos, he will want lots of prospects and youth. The Maple Leafs are in a state of rebuilding and want to do so properly via the draft and acquiring other teams’ young talent."
