Two huge games on tap this afternoon: Canada vs. Russia; and Game 1 of the WCF, Hawks @ Ducks.

Canada @ Russia 2:45 PM EST - TSN, NBCSN

This is going to be the most exciting world championship match-up in recent memory. Both teams are stacked with NHL players out of the playoff running. Canada has Crosby, Hall, Seguin, Giroux; Russia has Ovechkin, Malkin, Backstrom, and Kovalchuk.

The question for me is can Mike Smith perform well enough in net.

I suspect the battle in the west is going to be brutal. Both teams have been cup contenders for years, though only Chicago has made it recently.
